Hydrophobic PTFE membrane for vents of IV Filters Customized Oleophobic for lipids or alcohol-based drugs
Product Introduction
Hydrophobic PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) micro pore membrane is an ideal venting membrane for medical IV filters. It power poses an excellent performance in medical applications. Its Hydrophobic properties make itself used as a perfect venting filtration media for IV filter or other medical devices. Air elimination is a necessary feature of infusion filters which have self-venting function. It allows the passage of air that has been entrapped in the intravenous line or filter and ensures that only clean air-free fluids reach the patient's bloodstream, and keep smooth, accurate, and safe infusion therapy.
Oleophobic PTFE membrane is highly recommended for compatibility with lipids or alcohol-based drugs (chemotherapeutics) delivery in infusion therapy.
By using 1.0μm venting membranes, excellent air-flow speed is key performance which improve the efficiency of elimination of infusion set and filter. 0.45μm venting membranes bring aerosol bacterial interception characteristic which intercept particles, microorganisms, bacteria in the air. Ensure the safety of infusion therapy. And 0.2 μm is the best choice of 0.2μm IV filters because of its necessity safety reasons.
According to the performance requirements by the users, ePTFE membrane has a wide range of customized options of pore size and airflow rate requirements because of its expanded structure. Meanwhile, additional oleophobic property is highly recommended for compatibility with lipids and alcohol-based drugs delivery in infusion therapy, ensuring long lasting venting performance.

Applications
● IV filters’ venting
● Gas filtration
● Bacteria interception
● Air-liquid separation
● Drainage bag/bottle
● Aerosol & microorganisms interception
● Medrad (high pressure injector) venting
● Humidifier bottle bacteria venting
● Spike & caps bacteria venting
Warning
● Handle with care to avoid damaging the filter material.
● Sterilization by irradiation is not acceptable.
● Do not use glue or cyclohexanone for adhesion as it can clog the material itself, preventing gas from passing through.
● Avoid contact with alcohol or high-permeability solvents, otherwise, the material will become hydrophilic before it is fully dried (oleophobic ePTFE membrane does not have this issue).
