Filtered Closing Cap for IV Tubing Sets
Product Introduction
The filtered closing caps are specially designed end cap with built in PTFE filter for IV tubing sets. It is also called prime stop cap, protectively covers the distal end of IV lines which is otherwise open and unprotected when not attached to a catheter or a needle.
With hydrophobic PTFE membrane incorporated, the closing cap are primarily air-venting caps. They allow the passage of air entrapped in the intravenous tubing, meanwhile isolate the intravenous fluid from the outside environment and preventing the entry of vicious micro-organisms and contaminants through the open distal end of the intravenous line, and thus helps to minimize the risk of infections.
The filtered IV caps from us are in compliance with ISO standards, with purple, green and clear colour available.

Applications
The filtered closing caps are used in case of same medication, but multiple Infusions, specifically about the reuse of IV tubing within a 24-hour period. If the medication being infused remains the same throughout the day and you need to administer it on more than one occasion, you can use the same IV tubing. However, the infusion could be interrupted on the same day (i.e., the infusion is stopped for a period of time), the IV tubing must not be used for more than 24 hours from the time it was initially set up. To minimize the risk of contamination and infection. Healthcare professionals have to ensure that the IV tubing remains sterile and free from contaminants when planning to reuse it within the 24-hour period, and a filtered closing cap or priming filter cap is recommended to plug the tip of the tubing. It ensures that the tip of the tubing or the distal end of the IV lines does not come into contact with any surfaces or objects. This is crucial to prevent introducing any potential contaminants into the system and helps maintain the sterility of the tubing by preventing exposure to airborne contaminants.
