    Product Introduction

    Suction devices, which are frequently used in medical and healthcare settings, are susceptible to damage and contamination when they come into contact with bodily fluids. This susceptibility can compromise their functionality and pose significant health risks. To mitigate these issues, a suction filter is commonly used and placed between the suction pump and the secretion canister to prevent bacterial/viral and particulate contaminate from entering hospital suction system or equipment. A suction filter generally consists of two housings sealed around a filtering hydrophobic membrane, and the effectiveness of a suction filter to act as such a sterile barrier mainly depends on its key component: the hydrophobic PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane built into the filter. Our custom-made 0.2-micron PTFE membrane is an ideal material for this application because it possesses several properties that make it exceptionally well-suited for this medical use.

    To achieve optimal performance, the custom designed binder-free PTFE membrane features two-side hydrophobic PTFE material, which means both faces of the membrane are PTFE, with exactly the same physical properties and high performance, making both faces suitable for being used as working face and reducing assembly mistakes. This PTFE laminated membrane filter is reinforced and durable with a maximum service-life of 24 hours and meets various operating conditions. Easy and convenient for further processing and assembly, available in roll and precut circle forms.

    Furthermore, PTFE material is highly hydrophobic, meaning it repels water and other liquids.  Our PTFE membrane filter is designed, tested and processed so that it ensures that bodily fluids cannot penetrate the membrane under operation pressure of various suction systems, thereby protecting the internal components of the suction device from contamination and minimize significant health risks. Besides, PTFE is chemically inert, which means it does not react with or degrade when exposed to various chemicals commonly presenting in bodily fluids.

    In addition, the specially crafted microporous structure of our 0.2μm PTFE membrane allows adequate airflow to pass through while effectively blocking liquids, bacteria, aerosolized particles and other microorganisms with 99.9% efficiency, preventing any potential introduction of harmful contaminants into the suction system, reducing the risk of infections that could compromise patient health or equipment functionality.

    Warnings

    ● Handle with care to avoid damaging the filter material. 
    ● Sterilization by irradiation is not recommended. 
    ● Do not use glue or cyclohexanone for joining with housing as it will clog the material itself, preventing gas from passing through. 
    ● Avoid contact with alcohol or highly permeable solvents, otherwise, the material will become hydrophilic before it fully dries.
